Book Club with the author of A Song For A New Day

Argo Bookshop online

Join us and author Sarah Pinsker for a book club on A Song for a New Day, her music-thrumming Nebula-winning novel set in a post-pandemic dystopia where government-mandated social distancing has become the new normal. Full of punk rock passion, community, and hope, this eerily prescient work - it came out in 2019 - is particularly relevant and interesting to discuss in the context of 2020, so we hope you can come be a part of the conversation. The book club starts at 7 PM Eastern on Thursday, October 22nd; email events @ argobookshop . ca to sign up for free and get the Zoom link!

Ephemera 11: Light

Youtube, everywhere

The dark hours are lengthening in the northern hemisphere, the spectre of winter creeping across the land. In this month of frightful nights, join us for LIGHT! We'll be live on YouTube: https://bit.ly/2ZcD86H This reading series explores speculative fiction. Through reading and performance, we wander new worlds, half-forgotten byways, and things yet undreamed. We welcome you to our eleventh event, Light, featuring authors Waubgeshig Rice, Khashayar Mohammadi, and Sarah Pinsker, plus a musical performance by Charlie Petch. Lose yourself in stories and music, revel in fine company, and enjoy this month's ephemera. See facebook event page for more: https://www.facebook.com/events/354489022269134/
